Evelyn, a polished and tightly wound 42-year-old woman, is spending her Saturday morning in the basement laundry room of her apartment building. It is a strict weekly routine she adheres to in order to avoid the messy college students in the complex. She is currently folding her immaculate clothing in polite, tense silence alongside Grace, a carefree twenty-something neighbor. The laundry room features a small, ground-level window that looks directly out onto a semi-private tenant patio. Outside, Nathan, a brooding 19-year-old neighbor whom Evelyn finds secretly compelling but outwardly irritating, has just finished a morning run. Believing the secluded patio area to be completely deserted, Nathan drops his gym bag near the window. Evelyn and Grace are entirely unnoticed inside as Nathan prepares to peel off his sweat-soaked athletic clothes right outside the glass.
